It's a Girl!

It’s been a busy spring for the Foley’s and we are looking forward to an eventful summer! In the 4 months since my last post, a lot has happened. The biggest news of all is that we are expecting our second baby early November and Piper will be a big sister! We are very excited to expand our family and for Piper to have a little sister! Yes, it’s a Girl!
Anyway, aside from baby news we have enjoyed a few little trips this spring as well. Piper and I spent time in Indiana and Ohio in April. It was great to see friends and family and Piper loved riding on the airplane! In May, Kevin and I went to San Francisco for a little mommy/daddy time to visit friends, catch a Braves away game and just explore the city. We had a great trip and were able to do some great sightseeing and eating (my favorite).  We ended May in Athens, Ga celebrating Kevin’s sister, Kylie’s wedding! It could not have been a more perfect weekend and beautiful wedding and we are so happy to have been a part of it! Piper did an amazing job severing as a flower girl alongside her cousin Alexa, we were so proud of her. Piper and I have been lucky to spend most of June relaxing at the pool and spending time at the playground, going on walks with Kevin and hanging out with family.  With a few weeks of down time we now welcome July and more travel! Kevin, Piper and I are off to the beach next week to spend the 4th then later in the month we will be at the Lake for a weekend with the Raike family! So a busy summer awaits us and we get to end it with a trip to Disney in September and a baby in late Oct, early Nov!! Needless to say our last few months as a family of 3 will be very eventful and we will be looking forward to a nice fall/winter at home with our newest addition.
Piper is growing more and more every day, it’s amazing. She has such a strong personality and surprises me with the things she says and does daily. She is looking forward to being a big sister and always asks to see mommy’s belly and kiss the baby, so sweet! I was a bit nervous about what age 2 would bring but I think I can say so far it has been the best time. Don’t get me wrong we deal with our far share of tantrums but for the most part Piper is such a happy little girl and so silly (like her dad). We could not be more blessed and in love with this little girl. And to think another girl is on the way, we could not be more thrilled.
Well that is all for now, I will try my best to keep posting through the summer and this pregnancy! Here are some pictures from the last few months.

Happy New Year!

First of all, I can’t believe it has been a year since my last post but it goes to show how very busy we have been the last 12 months! This time last year we were embarking on a major milestone, Piper’s first birthday and oh how she has changed since then!!  We are beyond excited to see what this next stage brings and looking forward to everything to come!  She amazes us every day and we can’t get over how smart and animated she is! She can sing the alphabet and knows all her letters and numbers to 20, most colors and shapes including a “rhombus” which she has been saying a lot lately along with “octagon” at every stop sign! Singing and dancing are an everyday must from twinkle twinkle little star to head shoulders knees and toes. She also enjoys playing with her doll house and play kitchen. She loves to make “sandwiches” and feed all her stuffed animals and play with her two best friends, our dogs Louie and Thomas.  Some of my favorite words and phrases of hers are “unbelievable”, “delicious”, “oh my goodness”, and “see ya later alligator.” Oh how she makes us laugh and smile! Today she had her 2 year old well visit with the doctor, weighing in at 26lbs 12 oz and 2’ 11.5" tall (50th percentile for weight and 90th for height)!
As I mentioned, it has been a crazy year and there is no slowing down in site! Last spring we spent a few days in Ohio visiting friends and family then later took a trip to Florida with the Raike family.  By summer we had decided to put our townhouse up for rent and move! We closed on the new house in June and spent most of the summer days at the pool and working in the yard! I am grateful everyday for all the space we finally have for Piper and the dogs to enjoy! In Sept we went back to the beach for a mini vacation with Nene and Papaw and Piper absolutely loved it, playing with her “shovel and bucket” in the sand and watching the “waves” and “boats”.  Last winter we enjoyed our annual trip to the Smokey Mountains and Piper played in the snow for the first time! We were able to get some great pictures and had a wonderful trip. We spent the holidays with family here in Georgia and like her mommy; Piper really embraced the Christmas season and all it had to offer. She specifically liked the Christmas lights in which she commented “oh, pretty lights” constantly. As the New Year begins we embark on another crazy year filled with weddings, vacations, projects around the house and many new milestones for Piper! I really hope to stay more connected this year and record more of our adventures on a regular basis.  So enough about us and on to the good stuff, pictures!
Wishing you all a great New Year!
Love,

RIP Betty Owens "Nanny"

On Wednesday February 8th, my nanny, Betty Owens was called home to Heaven and will forever be at peace. I feel blessed to have known and loved such a strong women. Her death brings sadness for those she left behind but I'm comforted in knowing she lived a long fulfilled life and is no longer in pain. I will forever be grateful to her and all my grandparents who have left me with amazing childhood memories and allow me to cherish the family I have today. Nanny, may you forever rest in peace and live in my memory.

A year in review

It’s been so long since my last blog and I’m hoping in the year ahead to do better with keeping up to date! On Saturday, February 11th Piper will be turning 1!! The last year has been so amazing; Kevin and I feel so blessed. It’s definitely bittersweet, it’s awesome watching Piper grow and learn everyday but there are times I miss my little newborn who loved to cuddle and who was less independent.  She has become such an active, happy, goofy little girl. She absolutely loves music and has since she was only a few months old. Along with music, she loves to dance! We get such a kick out of her little dance moves and rhythm. She loves to paddy-cake, chase the dogs around the house, read her books, and go for walks among other things. Her most used words are “dog”, “dada”, “go”, “hi” and a bunch of things I haven’t figured out yet.  She is eating a lot of solids foods; ham is her favorite and anything she can feed herself. She loves Mexican- beans, rice, and avocado especially and fruits and most veggies are always a pleaser from apricots to zucchini she eats about everything (except peas!).
The last week has been very exciting, planning Pipers birthday, but also because she started to walk! By the end of January she was taking steps then in the last week she was walking. She still crawls a lot but she can walk a good distance on her own and as she gets more confident the faster she goes! Yesterday we were walking in the yard and I started off by holding her hand and walking with her but then she was ready to do it alone and didn’t want to hold mommies hand! She is such a big girl, I can’ believe how much she has grown and changed. We have a busy spring ahead and look forward to visiting friends and family in the months to come! We have so much to be thankful for and can’t wait to see what this next year brings!
Love,
Cass

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall!

It’s been a busy summer for the Foley’s! Piper and I spent the first week of September in Ohio and Indiana visiting friends and family, it was a great trip but too short! And last week we spend a few days with the family cruising the Gulf of Mexico and visiting Cozumel!! We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to fall and fall weather!  In November we are going on our annual trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee to spend the weekend in the Smokies- shopping, eating, hiking and watching football! We have been going a few years now and I can’t wait to take Piper and maybe even see some snow! Piper continues to grow every day; she is such a little character! She loves to be loud-screaming, grunting, squealing…so much for a quiet little princess. I think we officially have a tomboy!  Unfortunately her size and round chubby face get her confused for a boy most of the time so bows are a must these days! She has such a goofy, playful personality just like her daddy. I think I’m going to have my hands full with the two of them! She loves to play with Louie and Thomas always smiling and talking to them.  And dada has become a very popular word in our house, still working on mama. I swear the only time I hear “mom” is when she screams lol. I’ve added some pictures below from the summer, enjoy!

Happy 4th!

Wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th! We had a great Holiday with family and watching Piper celebrate her first July 4th! She spent the weekend playing with cousins, swimming at Nana and Papaws and watching fireworks. In 6 days, Piper will turn 5 months! I can’t believe how much she has grown and what a little personality she has developed. She loves to smile, play and swing! She has rolled over a few times now and can sit-up with very little support. She loves the dogs more and more everyday and has even got a hold of Louie’s hair a few times but fortunately it doesn’t bother him, yet! We are so blessed to have such a great little girl; she has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks and has a pretty good schedule going.  She is a great little swimmer already, kicking and splashing. We are going to start a mommy and me swimming class in a few months when she is old enough and we cannot wait! She is such a water bug already and I know she will love it. I will keep you all posted and have some pictures to share. That’s all for now!

3mths 2wks & 4 days

What an amazing 3+months it has been! Piper is growing more and more every day, she weighed in at nearly 14lbs 2 weeks ago and 24 inches long. Watching her develop mentally and physically has been so enjoyable. She loves to coo and make faces, especially smile :) The exersaucer has become her new best friend; she loves to sit and study all the objects and has learned how to play. The dogs have caught her attention too; she follows them with her eyes and has even reached out to touch them. Hopefully that means we have another dog lover in the house, I'm sure she will be. We are still working on tummy -time, it’s not her favorite thing at the moment but hopefully the more movement she has it will be better. Below are some recent pictures, we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
