Meet Josephine

On November 8, 2013 we welcomed our 2nd beautiful baby girl, Josephine Louise Foley. She was a healthy girl 9lbs, 2oz and 20.5in.  She has been an absolute joy and really is the sweetest little girl. Here are some of my favorite pictures of my sweet Joey.

HELLO!

Hello! As I expected it’s been a crazy, busy, eventful summer. The fact that today is August 14th is somewhat sad and bit scary because it means summer is almost over and baby #2 is due in less than 12 weeks!!

Jump ahead 2 weeks… and I am just now getting around to posting this so I made little updates throughoutJ! I am now 30 weeks pregnant and it’s Aug 29th!!

I can’t believe how fast the last few months have gone and seeing all the fall/Halloween decorations popping up in stores all over have me a bit nervous and very anxious. I can’t wait to meet this little girl but part of me still loves the single child life.  In anticipation for the new ones arrival we have tried to really make this the “summer of Piper” and have spent as much quality/family time with her as we can. The last few months have been packed with family vacations to the beach and lake for some fun in the sun and mini-weekend getaways. This past weekend (actually 2 weekends ago lol) we went to  Chattanooga celebrating Kevin’s 31st birthday were we visited Ruby Falls, Coolidge Park and the Lookouts minor league baseball game (Pipers first!) It was a great little weekend visiting a new city.  Our next big (last) adventure will be next month when we head to Orlando and take Piper to Disney! We have been talking a lot about Disney and who all will be there and Piper has been reminding me daily that she is going to see Cinderella and Belle and Snow White and Mickey and Goofy…I could go on and on. So I have to say, she seems really excited. I just hope I can survive a week in Disney @ 32 weeks pregnant, wish me luck!

We’ve also been busy getting the house ready for the new baby as well.  We celebrated 1 year in the new house back in June and since then have really tried to get little things done that we had been putting off. Kevin was a trooper and painted the nursery and our downstairs bath in one weekend and Piper’s room is on the schedule for this weekend.  Piper moved out of her crib and is now sleeping in her new daybed which she loves, she is happy to show anyone and everyone who comes over her “big girl bed.” We finished up all the hallway and kitchen painting as well and added beadboard to the nursery with the help of our amazing friends Alan and Maranda!!

As I mentioned Piper has officially graduated to a big bed and has been doing great sleeping in it. Occasionally I have to lay with her for a bit at first but she usually is ok with mommy leaving for the night once she is settled in. In the last few weeks she has been on a Curious George kick and The Muppets!  She very well might think that George is the funniest little “person” in the world because she just sits and laughs at him and I have no idea what she finds so humorous but I sure love that giggle. There is no denying why she likes the Muppets, the music and dancing. This girl loves to sing and dance and actually started her first dance class last week (Aug 21st) ! In addition to her dance class, she started going to “school” once a week at a local church that offers a “mommy’s day out” on Friday. I am so very excited for her!!  When it comes to being a big sister, I don’t think she gets it yet and I’m actually pretty sure she thinks my belly button is her baby sister…LOL. She always pokes and talks directly to it so needless to say she might be in for a surprise. No worries though, I know she will make an amazing big sister to this very lucky little girl. The one last big thing we are working on is potty training which has not been going as great as I hoped. Until now! Piper went on the potty for the first time the day after I originally wrote this blog, Aug 15th! It is still a work in progress but we are getting there!

Well that is everything I can possibly think of for now. I am not sure when I will get around to another update so I wish you all a great final month (weekend) of summer and happy fall!!

It's a Girl!

It’s been a busy spring for the Foley’s and we are looking forward to an eventful summer! In the 4 months since my last post, a lot has happened. The biggest news of all is that we are expecting our second baby early November and Piper will be a big sister! We are very excited to expand our family and for Piper to have a little sister! Yes, it’s a Girl!
Anyway, aside from baby news we have enjoyed a few little trips this spring as well. Piper and I spent time in Indiana and Ohio in April. It was great to see friends and family and Piper loved riding on the airplane! In May, Kevin and I went to San Francisco for a little mommy/daddy time to visit friends, catch a Braves away game and just explore the city. We had a great trip and were able to do some great sightseeing and eating (my favorite).  We ended May in Athens, Ga celebrating Kevin’s sister, Kylie’s wedding! It could not have been a more perfect weekend and beautiful wedding and we are so happy to have been a part of it! Piper did an amazing job severing as a flower girl alongside her cousin Alexa, we were so proud of her. Piper and I have been lucky to spend most of June relaxing at the pool and spending time at the playground, going on walks with Kevin and hanging out with family.  With a few weeks of down time we now welcome July and more travel! Kevin, Piper and I are off to the beach next week to spend the 4th then later in the month we will be at the Lake for a weekend with the Raike family! So a busy summer awaits us and we get to end it with a trip to Disney in September and a baby in late Oct, early Nov!! Needless to say our last few months as a family of 3 will be very eventful and we will be looking forward to a nice fall/winter at home with our newest addition.
Piper is growing more and more every day, it’s amazing. She has such a strong personality and surprises me with the things she says and does daily. She is looking forward to being a big sister and always asks to see mommy’s belly and kiss the baby, so sweet! I was a bit nervous about what age 2 would bring but I think I can say so far it has been the best time. Don’t get me wrong we deal with our far share of tantrums but for the most part Piper is such a happy little girl and so silly (like her dad). We could not be more blessed and in love with this little girl. And to think another girl is on the way, we could not be more thrilled.
Well that is all for now, I will try my best to keep posting through the summer and this pregnancy! Here are some pictures from the last few months.

Happy New Year!

First of all, I can’t believe it has been a year since my last post but it goes to show how very busy we have been the last 12 months! This time last year we were embarking on a major milestone, Piper’s first birthday and oh how she has changed since then!!  We are beyond excited to see what this next stage brings and looking forward to everything to come!  She amazes us every day and we can’t get over how smart and animated she is! She can sing the alphabet and knows all her letters and numbers to 20, most colors and shapes including a “rhombus” which she has been saying a lot lately along with “octagon” at every stop sign! Singing and dancing are an everyday must from twinkle twinkle little star to head shoulders knees and toes. She also enjoys playing with her doll house and play kitchen. She loves to make “sandwiches” and feed all her stuffed animals and play with her two best friends, our dogs Louie and Thomas.  Some of my favorite words and phrases of hers are “unbelievable”, “delicious”, “oh my goodness”, and “see ya later alligator.” Oh how she makes us laugh and smile! Today she had her 2 year old well visit with the doctor, weighing in at 26lbs 12 oz and 2’ 11.5" tall (50th percentile for weight and 90th for height)!
As I mentioned, it has been a crazy year and there is no slowing down in site! Last spring we spent a few days in Ohio visiting friends and family then later took a trip to Florida with the Raike family.  By summer we had decided to put our townhouse up for rent and move! We closed on the new house in June and spent most of the summer days at the pool and working in the yard! I am grateful everyday for all the space we finally have for Piper and the dogs to enjoy! In Sept we went back to the beach for a mini vacation with Nene and Papaw and Piper absolutely loved it, playing with her “shovel and bucket” in the sand and watching the “waves” and “boats”.  Last winter we enjoyed our annual trip to the Smokey Mountains and Piper played in the snow for the first time! We were able to get some great pictures and had a wonderful trip. We spent the holidays with family here in Georgia and like her mommy; Piper really embraced the Christmas season and all it had to offer. She specifically liked the Christmas lights in which she commented “oh, pretty lights” constantly. As the New Year begins we embark on another crazy year filled with weddings, vacations, projects around the house and many new milestones for Piper! I really hope to stay more connected this year and record more of our adventures on a regular basis.  So enough about us and on to the good stuff, pictures!
Wishing you all a great New Year!
Love,
The Foley’s
